Reach out to first time buyers

Believing in your product is one of the first steps in creating a successful career in sales, so think about that.

Do you believe that right now is the time to buy?

Make a list of all the reasons why you believe it – then make a list of reasons why you don’t believe it. Do your lists make it possible for you to honestly advise your buyer clients to go forward?

I hope so, because I firmly believe that anyone who has the ability to buy should be doing so right now. Sure, prices may still drop a bit in some markets. But a home is not supposed to be a financial investment, it’s a HOME.

It’s an investment in your future – and your family’s future. It’s a place to enjoy the freedom of doing as you please. It’s a place to put down roots and create memories. It’s your “safe haven.”

Furthermore, just like your coin collection and great-grandma’s set of crystal goblets; the current monetary value of your home doesn’t matter at all unless you’re selling.

I recently read a report saying that the number of first time buyers dropped dramatically in 2011. This may be due to the end of the tax credit. But it may be due to fear and uncertainty.

So reach out to them – show them why now is a good time.
